The founder and chief instructor, Julio Toribio, is a dynamic international instructor and educator of the Martial Arts. In his more than 40 years of learning and teaching martial arts, he has attained high ranks in Jujutsu, Aikido, Ninjutsu, Iaido and Karate. He has integrated his skills and knowledge in his martial art training as well as his experiences as a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger to develop Seibukan Jujutsu, a martial discipline and path adapted to modern times. Toribio Kancho is the director of Monterey Budokan, the Seibukan Jujutsu Headquarters in Monterey, California.

Toribio Kancho has worked extensively in developing effective methods of instruction for law enforcement officers, adults, children, teenagers, and disabled individuals in self protection and personal growth. As Director of the Monterey Budokan Academy, he oversees a variety of programs in self-defense, martial arts and Seibukan Jujutsu Schools.

Currently he holds the following black-belt ranks:

Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu)
– 10th degree black-belt

Enshin Itto-ryu Battojutsu (Japanese Sword Art) – 9th degree black-belt

Hakko-Ryu Jujutsu
– 7th degree black-belt

Aikido
– 5th degree black-belt

Okinawan Kempo Karate
– 2nd degree black-belt
